Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy achieved the prestigious recognition, awarded only to the top 5% of Title I schools in the State, based on its students’ academic success and progress. Title I schools are those that serve higher populations of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

This is the second time for Clark Creek, which is led by Principal Joey Moss, to earn this award in the last three years, as it also won the honor in 2019. Georgia’s Distinguished Schools, including Clark Creek, now are eligible to apply for the National Distinguished Schools Award; each state can select two schools for the national recognition.

“We’re so proud of Clark Creek and its entire school community for ensuring that every child is provided the access and opportunity needed to succeed in school and in life,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “The RedHawks soar higher each year thanks to the dedication of Principal Moss and her teachers and staff, with the strong support of the PTA and business and community partnerships. Congratulations on your continued accomplishments!”

The school will receive a banner to display celebrating the State recognition. The Cherokee County School Board and Dr. Hightower will recognize the school’s leaders at the August School Board meeting.
