Q.Β What led you to become a CCSD bus driver?
A.Β I graduated from Cherokee High School in 1979, and Mr. Bell (Principal of then Ralph Bunche ES) came to our house and asked who wanted a job.Β I said, βme,β and he hired me for the Head Start program and later as a parapro at Tippens and Johnston.Β Then, in 1986, I became a bus driver because I love kids and wanted to continue working with them - being a bus driver allowed for that, but also worked for my schedule, because I could be off when my son was off.

Q. Β What do you love most about your job?
A.Β I enjoy what I do and have always had a passion for children. Β I feel they need an advocate, and Iβm it. Driving for Cherokee County has been an experience that I would not trade for anything!
Q.Β What would you like others to know about driving a bus for CCSD? Β
A.Β If you love kids, itβs the job for you, but you really have to have a passion for them because it can sometimes be difficult. Β You must have patience, good driving skills and a love for children!
