Charter Kids go POP! (Power of Produce)

Students learned that soft drinks have a lot of sugar but not a lot of the vitamins & nutrients their bodies need.

Third graders at Cherokee Charter Academy explored a culinary world-away, just across the street from their school at the River Church Farmer’s Market. While tasting basil and watermelon infused water, students learned about new, healthier eating habits and more about just where their food comes from. The nationwide Power of Produce program started in Oregon and is sponsored locally by the Cherokee Farm Bureau.
