Students & faculty at Cherokee Charter Academy in Canton jumped and hooped it up in a big way for the American Heart Association. Through AHA’s “Jump Rope for Heart” and “Hoops for Heart” campaigns, they raised $4,657 for the organization and got plenty of heart-healthy exercise along the way! The top fundraiser at the school was third grader Chloe Wenzel. She collected over $300, nearly $100 from her own savings. Activities at the school included jump rope marathons and a basketball tournament that ended with a student team taking down the teacher squad in thrilling overtime. With over 22-million volunteers, the goal of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
