Creekview Tops Cass in Region Play
The Creekview Grizzlies baseball team decisively defeated the Cass Colonels at home, 8-1, in a Spring Break contest.
Creekview took an early lead on Monday against Cass and continued to stay in charge for the duration of the game, winning 8-1.
The offense was spread wide as seven players scored in the game. The only negative during the game was a controversial call at home plate that lead to the ejection of a Grizzly hitter.
In the bottom of the third inning, Tyler Martin rounded third base in an attempt at an in-the-park home run and slid head-first into home plate. Martin was subsequently ejected from the game after the home plate umpire determined that Martin's slide and contact with the catcher was unsafe for play.
