Walter Byess, 66, of Canton, died Sept. 22.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel. Internment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery.
Byess was a Vietnam veteran and served as a Marine Corps Sergeant. He was a member of the Shoal Creek Baptist Church and the VFW.

Survivors include wife, Sue Byess of Canton; sons, Doug Byess of Canton and Dave (Beth) Byess of Savannah; daughter, Misty (Nirmal) Prasad of Canton; honorary son, Wayne Buras; brothers, J.T. Byess of Powder Springs, Albert Byess of , and Terry Byess of Atlanta; sister, Connie Hardy of Union City and three grandchildren.
