Early Voting Starts Monday for House Race
Four residents are running in the special election for the district, which covers portions of Cherokee, Forsyth and north Fulton counties.

Early voting for theΒ Georgia House District 22 special electionΒ will start onΒ Monday in Cherokee County.
Voting will be held between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 through Friday, Dec. 20, and Monday Dec. 23 at the Stone Elections Building in downtown Canton.
The office is at 400 East Main Street in Canton.
No voting will be held at the office Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26 as the office will be closed for the Christmas holiday.
Early voting will resume on Friday, Dec. 27 during the aforementioned hours.
The remaining schedule for early voting at the office includes:
- Saturday, Dec. 28: 9:00 a.m. β 4:00 p.m. Β
- Monday, Dec. 30 and Tuesday, Dec.Β 31: 8:30 a.m. β 5:00 p.m.
- WednesdayΒ January 1, 2014:Β ClosedΒ for New Year's Day
- Thursday Jan. 2Β and Friday Jan. 3:Β 8:30 a.m. β 5:00 p.m.
Cherokee precincts participating in the electionΒ on Tuesday are Avery, Ball Ground, Bradshaw, Conns Creek, Free Home, Hickory Flat, Hightower, Macedonia, Union Hill andΒ Univeter.Β
Four Cherokee Republicans β Cherokee County residents Meagan Biello, Jeff Duncan, Nate Cochran and Sam Moore β are allΒ vyingto become the next elected official to represent the district, which includes portion of Cherokee, Forsyth and north Fulton counties.Β
The seat became vacant with the passing of former State Rep. Calvin Hill (R-Hickory Flat), whoΒ died after a battle with leukemia.Β
Voters can check their eligibility, as well as their polling locations, in the race by visiting theΒ Georgia Secretary of State's website.
