Woodstock Author to Speak in Canton About Critique Groups

Woodstock author Cynthia Simmons will be the guest speaker for the monthly meeting of New Life Writers. She will discuss:Β 

Critiques 101

The word critique is scary. All of us realize it’s related to the word criticize. However, an author who wants to get published values and seeks critiques. This workshop covers why you should do critique groups and how to do them well.

About Cynthia:

Cynthia L Simmons resides in Atlanta with her husband Ray. Active in Christian Authors Guild (CAG) she served as president, vice president, chaplain, and conference director as well as conducting writing seminars. Cynthia posts monthly podcasts, CAG Spotlight, in which she interviews authors and VIPs in the writing industry. In December 2009 CAG awarded her Lifetime Membership for her contributions to writers.

This meeting will also be the official formation of the northwest Georgia chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers so members are reminded to bring their dues so the paperwork can be processed. Yearly dues are $10 for the New Life Writers who are members of the national ACFW organization. Writers are welcome to join both groups - the annual membership fee of ACFW is $65; renewal memberships are $45.Β 

The public is invited to attend; the meeting is free.Β
