Golden Opportunity
The gold in north Georgia is 95 percent pure, more pure than in California.
Six graders at Cherokee Charter Academy in Canton learned all about the history of gold in north Georgia and Cherokee County. The lesson came courtesy of the Allatoona Gold Panners Club. Students learned about local gold mining, gold formations and hands-on gold panning techniques.
