Holly Springs Celebrates Christmas With Parade, Tree Lighting

The city will hold the annual parade at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.

Residents are invited to join the city of Holly Springs as they kick off the holiday season the first weekend in December.

On Friday, Dec. 5, the city will light the community Christmas tree at the historic Train Depot. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. for carols and light refreshments. For the third year, Holly Springs is partnering with the Cherokee County Volunteer Aging Council for the Tree of Hope.

Residents who would like to see an ornament placed in honor or memory of a friend or loved one on the Community tree visit the city’s website for more information on how to contribute to the Tree of Hope to help seniors in need in Cherokee County.

At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, residents can come out and watch the 10th annual Holly Springs Christmas Parade make its way down Holly Springs Parkway.

After ending at the Train Depot, residents are encouraged stay for entertainment, kids crafts, hot cocoa and treats.

Additionally, families can also take complimentary photos with Santa Claus inside the depot.

Holly Springs is supporting Harvesting Hope Ministries whose mission is to provide families spending the holidays at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with gift baskets. A list of requested items can be viewed on the city’s website. Those items can also be dropped off at Holly Springs City Hall through Dec. 5.
