Holly Springs Named Georgia's 2nd Safest City
Safewise analyzed the most recent data from the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting to compile its list.

The city of Holly Springs can add another distinction to its list of perks to attract new and retain current residents.
Safewise has ranked the city second on its list of the 40 Safest Cities in Georgia.
Safewise, which provides advice on home safety and security, came up with its list by analyzing data from the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Reporting from cities that had 4,000 or more residents in 2013.

Once it narrowed that list down, Safewise then reviewed the number of violent crimes -- murder, robbery, forcible rape and aggravated assault -- and property crimes such as burglary, arson, vehicle theft and larceny-theft reported in each of those cities.
Following that computation, Safewise then calculate how often those crimes were reported to police per 1,000 people.

Cities that donβt report data to the FBI or those that had incomplete data were not considered. According to Safewise, Holly Springsβs violent crime rate was .40 per 1,000 people while its property crime rate clocked in at 9.99 per 1,000 residents.
Safewise made the following note about the city:
Holly Springs earns our admiration for taking a pioneering approach to crime fighting with its T.R.A.C.E. Program, which builds community, government, and police partnerships that address the causes of crime and promotes individual responsibility. That might be why the second safest city on our list reported just four violent crimes to the FBI and boasts a property crime rate thatβs 66 percent lower than the national average.

βAdditionally, one-third of Georgiaβs safest cities reported less than one incident of violent crime per 1,000 residents, and 80 percent (or 32 of the 40 cities on our list) reported no murders,β Safewise continued.
