Holly Springs Officer Uses Naloxone To Save Another Overdose Victim
Sgt. Nathan Ernst used Naloxone to reverse the symptoms of a heroin overdose in a male patient.

A Holly Springs officer has once again used Naloxone to reverse a drug overdose in a patient.
Sgt. Nathan Ernst responded to an agency assist call in unincorporated Cherokee County around 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 in reference to a 24 year old man who was unconscious and not breathing.
It was believed the man had overdosed on heroin, the Holly Springs Police Department said in a press release.

When Sgt. Ernst arrived, paramedics on the scene immediately requested he retrieve the Naloxone (NarCan) from his patrol vehicle, βas they were aware Holly Springs Police Department carried the NarCan kits in their patrol cars,β the agency said.
Paramedics administered the Naloxone and a few moments later, the male started breathing and regainedΒ conscious. He was later able to walk to the ambulance where he was transported for further treatment.

Sgt. Ernst is credited for having saved the life of a 24 year old female in June, six days after being issued the Naloxone after completing law enforcement overdose prevention training.
