Meet Cosmo, a Sensational Senior Cat!

Hi, my name is Cosmo! Can you envision a big, fluffy, buff-orange puff ball? That’s me, a giant, woolly bear of a cat, who often gets called Lion-O for good reason. I have the softest, most downy, pale peach fur, with a cream colored chest and under-belly. You can usually find me napping atop one of our tall cat trees in the hallway at Furkids. When I’m not napping, one of my favorite activities is playing with kittens. It’s quite comical to watch me in action as I playfully pounce with the little ones.

I know you want to stroke my gorgeous coat of fur, but please try to resist the urge when I’m napping. After all, I am a cat, and reserve the right to express my disapproval if you pet me when I’m not in the mood. Furkids volunteers have noticed that I’m a very observant, intelligent boy and can find that yummy wet cat food they “hid” in the drawer. I’m also a very sweet, laid back, independent guy who would be quite content with a cozy cat bed, a sunny window for bird watching, regular brushing to maintain my handsome coat, and love from a human companion.

I’m what they call a senior cat because I’m about 13 years old, although I prefer to think of myself as “mature”. That just means I’m less rambunctious and not as likely to get into mischief as kittens. I’m also not as demanding for your attention and won’t require constant interaction. Best of all, November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and cats and dogs 8+ years old have $0 adoption fees!
