New Cherokee Library To Get Board Approval
The Cherokee County Library Board of Trustees is set to vote to approve the construction company to build the new library east of Canton.

The Cherokee County Library Board of Trustees is set to approve the construction company that could build its newest library.
The board is set to meet Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at R.T. Jones Memorial Library in Canton.
The library, which will be located on the corner of Highway 20/Cumming Highway at Old Mill Road in the Lathemtown community, will cost about $5.3 million to build.

The library had initially been placed on hold, but the county is now ready to move forward.
"We have held it as long as we can without losing money," said Sequoyah Regional Library Director Susan White.

Construction is slated to start in May.Â
