New Cherokee School Board Members Take Office

Two new faces and three familiar ones all took office last week to start new terms on the Cherokee County School Board.

Woodstock residents Clark Menard and Rick Steiner, Hickory Flat resident John Harmon and Canton residents Mike Chapman and Kyla Cromer were all sworn in by Cherokee County Probate Judge Keith Wood last week during the school board’s meeting on Thursday.

Chapman is returning to the board for a new four-year term after retiring in 2012 following 11 years of service on the board.

Both Harmon and Menard were sworn in to their first four-year terms on the board while Steiner was sworn in to begin his third term. Cromer was sworn in to complete the unexpired term of former board member Kelly Trim.
