New K-9 Joins Cherokee Sheriff's Office

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office's K-9 Unit has two new faces — including Man's Best Friend — joining its ranks.

Deputy Mark Patterson has been assigned to the unit, and will be teaming up with K-9 DYNO.

Patterson is a four-year veteran with the sheriff's office. DYNO is a Dutch Shepard that's been trained to patrol and to detect explosives. 

He replaces K-9 NITRO, who the agency retired in July.
