Reptiles Rock Cherokee Charter!
Did you know some species of lizard can carry their offspring for up to two years?

Reptiles and amphibians invaded Cherokee Charter Academy as herpetologist & field biologist Troy Marrs unleashed the creatures in 7th grade life science classes. In all, students got to know three species of turtle, two species of salamander, two species of gecko, two species of toad, three species of lizard, bearded dragons, a chameleon and a boa constrictor. Mr. Marrs studies many of these animals in their native Georgia habitat and others have been rescued. Students learned lots of interesting facts about about the critters, including how a crusty eyelash gecko’s feet stick to surfaces and the unusual movement of a chameleon’s eyes.
