Sequoyah Falls to Rome, 20-10

The Sequoyah Chiefs slide to 1-4 with a loss to the Rome Wolves, who improved to 3-2 for the year.

As much as a win against the Rome Wolves would have helped to build on last week's victory, could not maintain consistent offensive momentum and, more importantly, had no answer for the Wolves offense.  The 20-10 loss drops Sequoyah to 1-4 for the season with a tough schedule ahead.

After a ceremony to honor  and a moment of silence to reflect on the passing of a student who died in a car accident on Tuesday, the game was underway.

From the beginning, neither offense seemed to be able to move the ball consistently and the score remained at 0-0 until well into the second quarter when Sequoyah kicked a field goal to go up 3-0.  That, however, would be the Chiefs' only lead of the evening as Rome added two touchdowns before halftime and led 13-3 at the break.

Sequoyah received the second half kickoff and just a few plays into the drive Junior running back Stuart Glassic broke through the Wolves' defense and barreled 66-yards for a Chiefs touchdown to close the gap to three points.  Unfortunately for Sequoyah, they did not score again for the evening and Rome tacked on another score in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
