State Sen. Bruce Thompson of Bartow Sworn Into Office

State Sen. Bruce Thompson, R-Cartersville, was officially sworn into office Thursday to represent the 14th Senate District at the State Capitol. Thompson will serve portions of Cherokee, Bartow and Cobb counties.

“I am deeply humbled for the opportunity to serve the constituents of the 14th Senate District,” Thompson in a press release. “I look forward working with my colleagues in the General Assembly and am committed to making Georgia a better place to live, work and raise a family.” 

Prior to being elected to the State Senate, Thompson contributed to his community by serving as chairman of the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce and chairman of Personnel at First Baptist Church of Cartersville. He is also a successful entrepreneur and businessman and serves as an insurance agent at Allstate Insurance. 

Thompson graduated from Montana State University-Northern and went on to serve four years in the U.S. military as a tank commander. 

Thompson and his wife, Becky, reside in the Cartersville area along with their children, Faith and Max.
