Weekend Roundup: Grizzlies End Season with Win

Creekview 43, Woodland 35 – Creekview’s season started and ended well after Friday’s win gave the Grizzlies their fourth-straight victory. lost five games in a row in between its opening-night victory and their final four wins, but Grizzlies coach Al Morrell told the Cherokee Tribune the team had some momentum heading into next season.
“We went through that gauntlet in our schedule early in the year and were 1-5,” said Morrell. “We set the goal to win four straight, and the kids were able to do it. Now, the kids coming back next year. Now, we have a four-game win streak to build on.”
Sequoyah 26, Forsyth Central 22 – scored last on Friday, and according to the Cherokee Tribune, that’s what it took to win a game that included multiple lead changes in the second half.

The Chiefs led through the first half but the game moved to see-saw scoring in the second. Running back Obie Myers ran for 90 yards and scored twice, including the final score of the game and had two receptions for 30 yards.
