Accused Purse Snatcher Arrested In Johns Creek

A Doraville man is accused of taking a woman's purse outside Kroger on State Bridge Road.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The man accused of snatching a purse from a grandmother in the parking lot of a grocery store in Johns Creek has been arrested.

Jonathan David Hodges, 43, of Doraville is charged with robbery, two counts of financial transaction card fraud and attempt to misrepresent tag, the Johns Creek Police Department said. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Sunday, July 1.

Johns Creek police were dispatched to Kroger at 10945 State Bridge Road on Monday, June 18 and met with a woman, who said she was with her granddaughter in the parking lot when a man grabbed her purse from her shoulder.

The subject hopped into a red or maroon Honda Civic and fled the scene. Johns Creek police spokesperson Capt. Chris Byers said Hodges was identified by a resident who submitted a tip to authorities through the department's Facebook page.

After the robbery, police said the subject allegedly used the woman's credit cards at stores in the area. Fulton County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Tracy Flanagan said Hodges remains at the Jail with a $23,000 bond.
