
Atlanta, GA – James (Jim) F. Pope, president and CEO of KeyWorth Bank, Johns Creek has been elected by his peers to serve a two-year term on the board of directors of the
Georgia Bankers Association (GBA).
“We are delighted to have someone with Jim’s experience join our board. He will serve our industry and association
well," said GBA Chairman Jim Edwards, CEO, United Bank, Griffin.
Pope is a veteran banker with over 30 years of experience. He began his career with North Carolina National Bank (NCNB), later Bank of America, where he held numerous management roles in key North Carolina and Florida markets. He was responsible for establishing NCNB in
central Florida. Pope spent 14 years with the First Citizens Bancshares (FCB) where he oversaw retail, commercial and mortgage banking. In 1997, he was selected by FCB to establish IronStone Bank headquartered in Atlanta. As president and director of IronStone Bank, Pope oversaw the opening of 58 offices in 8 states growing the bank to $2 billion in total assets. Pope helped to organize KeyWorth Bank in 2007, where he also serves as a director.

Pope is regularly engaged in community activities having
served on several Boards such as the greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Summit Counseling Center, North Fulton Community Charities, and Habitat for Humanity. He is a member of the John’s Creek Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Pope holds a BS-Business from Appalachian State
University and is a graduate of the Executive Program at the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
