Your County Animal Shelter Needs Volunteers!

Do you love animals?  Then we need YOU!

There are lots of volunteer opportunities to help the homeless pets of Fulton County.  Join us for a Volunteer Orientation and learn how you can help in the shelter, from home, in the community, or at one of our events.

WHAT: Volunteer Orientation
WHEN: Saturday May 4th
TIME: 11:00 am
WHERE: Fulton County Animal Services, 860 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
RSVP here: https://www.facebook.com/events/567865623246351/

We will go over policies, procedures, specific volunteer opportunities, and take a tour of the shelter.

Opportunities to help exist in the following areas:

Offsite Pet Adoptions - The more volunteers we have, the more events we can hold, and the more lives can be saved.
Animal Photography - Whether you have a DSLR or a camera phone, your photos help get adopters' attention.
Fundraising - Assist the shelter with raising money for additional lifesaving programs.
Donations - Help the shelter collect donations of items and services it needs and build relationships with community partners.
Pet Retention - Help pet owners find alternatives to surrendering their animals to the shelter.
Rescue - Build relationships with rescue groups and arrange transports to areas where there is a shortage of pets available for adoption.
Marketing - Promote adoption at the shelter as an alternative to buying pets, specific events, FCAS services, and individual animals.
Community Outreach - Educate the community with regard to adoption, spay/neuter, tethering, and other relevant issues to help create a culture of responsible pet ownership and empower pet owners.
Pet Matchmaking - Help potential adopters choose the right pet.
Pet Detectives - Reunite owners with their lost pets.
TNR - Assist with FCAS's feral cat trap-neuter-release program.
Transport - Drive animals to adoption events, veterinarian appointments, and meet rescues.
Foster - Save a life by sharing your home with a homeless animal that needs some extra TLC before becoming available for adoption or until it is adopted.
Dog Behavior - Take dogs outside to burn off some energy, maintain their house-training, and teach them basic commands to make them more adoptable.
Cat Socialization - Spend time with cats to reduce their anxiety and improve their quality of life.
And More!!!
