Body Of Missing Johns Creek Woman Found: Report

Carol Lynn Smith left her home around 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 to run an errand and her body was found Nov. 11, the family says.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — A Johns Creek woman who mysteriously disappeared a week ago was found dead in her van over the weekend, WXIA reports. Carol Lynn Smith, 64, was reported missing on Monday, Nov. 5 by her family when she didn't return to her home off Old Alabama Road near Buice Road after running some errands.

Johns Creek police said Smith left home without her cell phone and was not seen or heard from since then. Capt. Chris Byers said Johns Creek police detectives have received information on possible sightings of Smith, but they have all "turned out not to be her."

Smith's son, Wes, searched for his mother for the past week, checking surveillance video at gas stations in the area without success. On Nov. 11 he posted on Facebook in a video that his mother's van had been found on Highway 141 and she was deceased. He thanked the public for support, searches and tips to help find Carol Smith.
