Camp All-American Offers Exciting Daytime Options

There's a summer camp filled with fun and adventure right here in Johns Creek.

Would you like a great summer camp experience for your child without leaving town? A summer camp experience that is packed with fun? A summer camp experience that will enrich your child’s life? Then Camp All-American, at right here in Johns Creek, is the place for you.

Camp All-American welcomes families from all over the community to take part in its camp. In fact, 90 percent of the camp participants are not members of Perimeter Church.

This camp may be near home but it seems like a camp you’d have to travel far to get to. One of the camp staff explained that they “try to create an overnight camp experience in a day camp setting.”

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day the camp provides sessions for ages first through eighth grade. Camp runs for 10 consecutive weeks throughout the summer, beginning May 31 and ending on Aug. 5. There are two four-day sessions ($159) and eight five-day sessions ($199). If additional hours are needed before or after those hours, campers can stay from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an additional charge. Campers may attend multiple weeks.

Sports are a big part of the camp. Baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball, kickball, swimming and a ropes course are all available. There are two well-supervised pools with a splash pad for younger children. The ropes course covers several acres and includes 1,300 feet in two exciting zip lines.

First- through fifth-graders are all in speciality camps, meaning they get to chose one specific activity to focus on. At the beginning of each day campers spend 1-1½ hours in their specialty. After that it’s swimming, Bible time, three other activity blocks and assembly time. All campers bring their own lunch Monday through Thursday, and on Friday pizza is served.

Sixth- through eighth-graders choose a particular track to participate in. The three tracks are the Adventure Track (rock climbing, canoeing, and zip line), the Classic Track (American sports like baseball and basketball) and the International Track (soccer and lacrosse).

Counselor positions at Camp All-American are eagerly sought after. Counselors are college age or older. Primarily from local colleges and universities with some from out of state, most counselors return to work for repeated years. Last year there were about 300 applicants for these positions and 150 were chosen. The counselors receive four full days of intense training.

Of the camp, one parent said "My daughter loved camp. I couldn’t have been more pleased with this great experience."

Registration for camp has already begun. You can sign your child up now by going online to www.perimeter.org/camp. Happy summer and happy camping at Camp All-American.
