CHS's Cooper Commits to Gardner-Webb University for DI Soccer

Chattahoochee High School's Noah Cooper has committed to play men’s soccer for Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, starting in the Fall of 2018. Gardner-Webb is a member of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference.

Cooper is a center back on Chattahoochee’s varsity soccer team, and was a starter for the Cougar’s Boys Varsity Soccer team that lifted the 2017 AAAAAA Georgia State Championship. He was also a starter for the Alpharetta Ambush U19 SRPL side. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Noah lived in Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia where he played for various clubs, including the HK Dragons FC, and KCC Selects where he played a number of international tournaments in Singapore and Malaysia. After moving to Johns Creek in mid-2015, Cooper has played for both UFA and Alpharetta Ambush. He has earned 3 varsity letters at Chattahoochee High School; outside of soccer, he also helped win a Georgia State JV Rugby Championship with Phoenix Rugby in 2016.

Cooper chose Gardner-Webb after considering offers from several other schools, including SCAD and Belmont Abbey. He would like to thank his Chattahoochee coaches Les Meenan and Eduardo Coloma, for their support and for helping him achieve this goal. He would also like to thank the coaches from past clubs for guiding him in his formative years: James Dean, Greg Ewins and Luis Benavides in Hong Kong; and Raul Diaz Arce, Ana Junyent, and Juan Carlos Madrid in Atlanta.
