Deadline To Apply For Citizens Fire Academy is Jan. 8

Johns Creek residents can get a detailed look at how their fire department operates when the Johns Creek Fire Department launches its next Citizens Fire Academy.

The 12-week course will start Feb. 2, 2016, and will give participants a chance to learn about JCFD operations, fire tactics and strategies and aspects of fire prevention and investigation techniques.

The academy meets Feb. 2, 13, 16, 23, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, April 9, 16 and 19 and includes classroom instruction (equipment, fire prevention); demonstrations (CPR, investigation techniques); and practical exercises (fire ground training, emergency medical exercises).

The Citizens Fire Academy is open to Johns Creek residents or those who work in Johns Creek age 18 and older who successfully pass the application process and a criminal history check.

You can download the application online or get one at JCFD Headquarters, which are located at 12000 Findley Road Suite 380.
