Free Outdoor Fitness Classes Offered At Newtown Park

Classes this month include outdoor Yoga and Bar-less Barre. They all begin at 10 a.m. at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The city of Johns Creek continues to offer its free outdoor fitness classes this month at Newtown Park, giving residents a chance to try something new or to enjoy a workout in a fun atmosphere.

Certified instructors teach these popular classes, and all fitness levels are invited to come and work up a sweat. The free, one-hour classes will be held on Sunday, July 8, July 15 and July 22. All classes begin at 10 a.m. and are held at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater at the park.

Classes this month include outdoor Yoga and Bar-less Barre. Yoga moves at a slower pace, improving flexibility, muscle tone, strength, and stress management through stretches, poses, and relaxation techniques.

Bar-less Barre classes are ballet-inspired exercises that use small isometric movements to build muscle, improve posture, balance and flexibility. All participants must bring their own exercise mats. Participants under the age of 16 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
