Due to “unforeseen circumstances,” the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections has to change one polling location for the 2015 special election to fill the vacancy for State House District 50 in Johns Creek.
Voters who regularly utilize Taylor Road Middle School at 5150 Taylor Road will now have to cast ballots at Chattahoochee High School, which is at 5320 Taylor Road.

“The school will be undergoing renovations, making it unusable for polling,” said Richard Barron, director of the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections.
All affected voters will be notified of the change in location by first-class mail. Concerned residents can also check online to find out if the change would affect their polling place on Election Day.

Republicans Kelly Leigh Stewart, Royce M. Reinecke and Bradford Jay Raffensperger, Libertarian Christine A. Austin and Paul Troop — who did not list a party affiliation — all qualified this week to fill the seat, which was vacated when Lynne Riley was tapped by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as the state Department of Revenue commissioner.
While this is a nonpartisan special, each candidate’s party affiliation, if any, will be listed on the Jan. 6 ballot. A runoff, if needed, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.
