Johns Creek Approves Project To Close Autry Mill Sidewalk Gap
Council members approved a contract to build a sidewalk on Autry Mill Road from Buice Road to an existing sidewalk.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek City Council has voted to move forward with plans to fill in another sidewalk gap identified in its jurisdiction.
City leaders at their Aug. 13 meeting voted to award a contract to Construction 57 to build a sidewalk along Autry Mill Road. The contract amount is $559,710.
The original plan called for building a 10-foot sidewalk on Autry Mill from Buice Road to the existing sidewalk, a distance that amounts 2,100 linear feet, for $602,412.25. However, Council members opted to with an alternative approach that would build a five-foot sidewalk for the lesser amount. The contractor will have 180 days to complete the sidewalk project.

This sidewalk project will close a gap and connect residents to Dolvin Elementary School as well as Ocee Park. According to city documents, the sidewalk would also allow for future connectivity to Autrey Mill Nature Preserve.

Johns Creek recently completed a sidewalk project on Parsons Road that closed a gap in the network between Abbotts Bridge and Medlock Bridge roads. That 5-foot wide and 8-foot wide sidewalk segments are also along an elementary school walking route, and improve overall safety and walkability in the area.
