Johns Creek Fire Department Offers Residents Free Smoke Detectors

Until Dec. 24, any Johns Creek resident needing a smoke detector can contact the Johns Creek Fire Marshal's Office to receive a new device.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Due to the increased risk of interior structure fires during the holiday season, the Johns Creek Fire Department is holding a “12 Days of Christmas Smoke Detector Blitz.”

From Dec. 14-24, any Johns Creek resident in need of a smoke detector can contact the Johns Creek Fire Marshal’s Office to receive a new smoke detector. The smoke detectors have a 10-year battery life and can be picked up at Fire Headquarters, 11360 Lakefield Dr., or arrangements can be made for delivery.

The Fire Marshal’s Office reminds residents to check all smoke detectors in their homes to ensure they are operational.
