Here are the top four stories today in Johns Creek:

  1. Laura Kronen and her 17-year-old son were the two Johns Creek poll workers who were fired 15 minutes before the polls opened at the Ocee Library on Tuesday, Nov. 8, due to social media posts. The posts show Kronen at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, according to Channel 2 Action News. When asked if she participated in the insurrection, Kronen replied, "I wouldn't call it an insurrection. No one's ever been charged with insurrection. And yes, we were there, and I have not been charged with anything, I was not accused of anything. So I was at a rally." Kronen said she was fired for her political beliefs. (WSB-TV 2 Atlanta)
  2. Fulton County and its 15 cities, including Johns Creek, have finally come to an agreement about the Local Option Sales Tax revenue. Fulton County will receive about ten percent of the total revenues generated over the ten-year life of LOST. Vice Chairman Liz Hausmann said, "Under the new formula, the cities will remain whole, the county will share the increase, and the financial needs of both parties will be met. Most importantly, Fulton County taxpayers are protected from tax increases from both Fulton County and their City." (Appen Media)
  3. Republican Bridget Thorne won the Fulton County Board of Commissioners District 1 seat, which includes all of Johns Creek. In Tuesday's General Election, Thorne had 50.28 percent of the vote. (Appen Media)
  4. Mark Toro, CEO and founder of the Toro Development Company, spoke about the new Medley project in Johns Creek. Medley will be a shopping center, an office complex, and a residential development. According to Toro, Medley is perfect for the area because Johns Creek is the wealthiest community in Georgia. (ChainStoreAge.com)
