Johns Creek Hires New Finance Director
Toni Jo Howard will start with the city on Monday, June 27.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- A new face will join the staff at the city of Johns Creek.
Toni Jo Howard, CPA, CGFM, has signed on to become the city's new finance director. Howard comes to Johns Creek from First Data in Atlanta where she served as the accounting manager.
Her first day on the job will be Monday, June 27.

Howard was selected from a pool of more than 130 candidates, and brings a mix of both public and private sector experience to the city’s Finance Department.
Her extensive experience in all aspects of finance and accounting combined with her leadership skills, forward thinking mentality and passion for public service, stood out during the interview process, the city said Wednesday.

"Howard’s background and experience are viewed as the right fit as the city continues to move forward with improvements to its budget forecasting, analysis and management," the city added.
Howard's previous finance positions include a management position with First Data, interim city administrator and finance director for the city of Smyrna; assistant CFO/controller for the Fayette County Board of Commissioners; audit manager at Cherry, Bekaert, and Holland, LLP; and senior auditor for the State of Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts.
Howard is a certified public accountant in both Virginia and Georgia, with a master's of professional accounting and bachelor's of business administration in accounting from the University of West Georgia, a certified government finance manager and a chartered global management accountant.
