Johns Creek Named 4th Safest City In America

Johns Creek is the only city in Georgia named to the National Council for Home Safety and Security's list for 2017.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The trade association made up of licensed alarm installers, contractors and other related groups has recognized the city of Johns Creek as the fourth safest in the United States.

Alarms.org, the official site of the National Council for Home Safety and Security, named Johns Creek to the Top 100 Safest Cities in America list, which was released this week. The council is comprised of companies and individuals in the home safety and security industry that work to educate the public on related subjects.

The council came up with its list by reviewing the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report Statistics, along with its own "internal research," a representative with Alarms.org said.

Cities that failed to submit a complete report to the FBI were removed, as were municipalities with populations below 50,000. The remaining cities were ranked based on the number of reported violent crimes (aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery), property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft) and officer count.

This list can be viewed here. According to the Council, Johns Creek had 39 violent crimes and 640 property crimes per 100,000 residents. It's the only city in Georgia to make the top 100 list.
