Johns Creek Offers Free Self-Defense Course for Women

The free class will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 22 at the Johns Creek Police Department headquarters.

The Johns Creek Police Department will offer a class for women to learn basic self-defense skills.

The agency will offer a free safety and self-defense class for women from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 22.

The class will be taught by Sgt. Debbie Kalish and Sgt. Ben Finley. Both sergeants are instructors in defensive tactics and have combined experience exceeding 30 years, the agency said.

The class will be taught at the police department's headquarters, located at 11445 Johns Creek Parkway.

Space is limited, so residents are encouraged to sign up as early as possible.
