Quail Hollow-Cauley Creek Park Input Meeting On Jan 30 (ICYMI)

Residents are invited to view the latest design for the future park at a Jan. 30 public input meeting.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Johns Creek residents are invited to provide input on the future of the Cauley Creek/Quail Hollow Park in an open house scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 30. Consultants and city staff will be on hand from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Johns Creek United Methodist Church to provide an overview of the latest design and to answer any questions from the public.

The future park is a 192-acre property located in the eastern half of Johns Creek along the Chattahoochee river and adjacent to the Rogers Bridge Trail.

City leaders last summer purchased 58 acres at Quail Hollow for $8.9 million. The Quail Hollow land was combined with the adjacent 133-acre Cauley Creek property, which was purchased in 2016, to form the largest city park in Johns Creek.

Both properties are strategically located along the Chattahoochee River near the Abbotts Bridge Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The city previously said the Quail Hollow purchase allows the city to develop a master plan that would incorporate both parcels into a unified park.

The Quail Hollow land is mostly wooded and lends itself to a mostly passive purpose, which provides an opportunity to address additional community needs and preserve greenspace. The purchase will provide the city the ability to further plan for a multi-use trail system along the Chattahoochee River.
