Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- Batin Azzaam Rashid, 46, was found dead in Sandy Springs from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot after shooting a Johns Creek couple at Plantation Bridge Drive on Dec. 19. Heather Quiggle, with a gunshot wound in her chest, and her boyfriend, with a gunshot wound in his leg, were transported to North Fulton Hospital and in stable condition. Rashid, the suspect and ex-boyfriend of Quiggle, was wanted by the Johns Creek Police Department when he was later found dead. (Appen Media)
- In 2020, Johns Creek and Alpharetta agreed to allow residents and full-time employees to pay the respective city's resident rate for access to each city's softball, baseball, and lacrosse programs and facilities. Johns Creek requested that recreational soccer be added to the list for 2023-2024. Alpharetta agrees the plan is mutually beneficial, as both cities are experiencing a growth in soccer programs.
