Johns Creek Will Consider Billboard Settlement Agreement

The agreement will possibly address how many billboards companies will construct in the city.

The Johns Creek City Council on Monday will consider approving an agreement that will possibly spell out how many billboards will be constructed in the city.

The council will consider the agreement during its meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at Johns Creek City Hall. City Hall is at 12000 Findley Road Suite 300.

Johns Creek, along with the cities of Alpharetta, Milton and Sandy Springs, were all impacted by a Georgia Supreme Court ruling that declared Fulton County’s sign ordinance to be unconstitutional. That ruling paved the way for dozens of billboards to be constructed in all four cities.

For Johns Creek, that means billboard companies could build up to 31 signs in the city.

Johns Creek officials have been working to strike a deal with the companies to reduce the number of billboards that would come to the city. Specifically, the city has engaged in discussions on the number, kind and location of the billboards.
