Ladies Night Out Event To Feature Free Health Screenings

Emory Johns Creek Hospital will team up with Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties to host the event on Feb. 25.

Johns Creek, GA -- Emory Johns Creek Hospital has partnered with Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties to host its annual Ladies Night Out event.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 in the hospital’s new education center.

Free health screenings will be offered to women, including glucose, bone density, blood pressure and body mass index. Physicians will also be available to offer casual consultations to women.

Additionally, a panel discussion entitled Trends in Women’s Health will take place before the main event at 6 p.m. Medical professionals slated to participate in the roundtable include Kimberly Lairet, MD, general and breast surgeon; Maria Piraner, MD, diagnostic radiologist, director of the Center for Breast Care at EJCH; Meena Thirunavu, MD, assistant professor of medical oncology, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University; and Patricia Yugueros, MD, chief of plastic surgery.

Beverly Miller, director of community relations at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, stated the event is an opportunity for women to be more proactive about their own health.

“It’s a night for them to focus on themselves,” she said. “They can get health screenings, shop and have fun.”
