Man Snatched Grandmother's Purse At Kroger: Cops

Johns Creek police say the man grabbed the bag from the woman's shoulder as she was walking with her granddaughter.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek Police Department is asking the public to help them locate a man accused of taking a purse from a shopper in the grocery store parking lot.

The incident was reported Monday, June 18 at Kroger at 10945 State Bridge Road. Johns Creek police said in its press release that the victim was "walking with her granddaughter in the parking lot" when the suspect ran by the woman and snatched her purse from her shoulder.

The male subject jumped into a red or maroon Honda Civic and fled the scene. Police say the suspect, who appears to be a white male, in his late 20s, about 6'3'' tall and had strawberry blonde hair. He was wearing khaki shorts, a plaid shirt, a red ball cap and black socks, the department said.

He is also accused of using the woman's credit cards at various stores in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
