Chattahoochee Student-Athlete Signs With Northwestern University
Chattahoochee High School's Elina Moon commits to fence at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Chattahoochee High School’s Elina Moon has signed a National Letter of Intent to fence for Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Northwestern is a NCAA Division I school and member of the Big Ten Conference.
Elina Moon is a national-level competitive foil fencers and has had many remarkable results at national tournaments by placing 10th at 2016 Junior Olympics, Bronze at 2015 North American Cup, 7th at 2015 Summer Nationals, and Bronze at 2014 Summer Nationals.
She has been the highest national ranking foil fencers in Georgia for the past 3 years and ranked 29th in the country for U17 during 2015-2016 fencing season. She has also won numerous medals at regional and state tournaments.

Elina is one of the few fencers who is accomplished in two weapons, epee and foil. Besides fencing foil at Athletic Club Northeast Lotus Fencing Academy, she fences epee at Chattahoochee High School for the Georgia High School Fencing League (GHSFL).
She lettered every year and is the captain of the Chattahoochee Fencing Team. She has won the Individual State Championship, Team State Championship, and gold in most GHSFL tournaments.

She chose Northwestern over University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Boston College and US Air Force Academy.
