That tutoring session, which also included Meena and other Northview students serving as tutors, was held to help students in grades second through sixth prepare for the statewide tests.
Shooting Stars Foundation conducts academic boot camps for students across the country. All proceeds made from the camps are sent to sponsor education and give grants to kids in need internationally.
They believe that too often, those students who deserve higher education aren’t able to get it because of a lack of financial resources, so the goal is to provide any capable students with the financial means to attain higher education.
Organizers do this by partnering up with various colleges and universities in different countries to create scholarship programs for their local students. Currently, the camp is conducted in 11 different cities across five states.
Spring 2015 was the first time the camp was introduced in Johns Creek, and the initiative at the local level attracted 34 students.
