An officer with the agency met with a Fulton County Schools resource officer and a juvenile at Haynes Bridge Middle School in nearby Alpharetta just before 9 a.m. June 25.

According to an incident report released by Johns Creek police, the juvenile told the officer she was sitting on a bench directly in front of Atlanta Diamond Design at 3000 Old Alabama Road when a small red vehicle driven by a man pulled up beside her in the parking lot.

The child, who said the driver’s side door was closest to her, said the man allegedly asked what her phone number was and “then told her to get inside the vehicle,” according to the report.

The girl rejected the request, and ran to a nearby Subway restaurant to inform an employee of what happened.

The report states the child was sitting outside the business, as that location serves as a bus stop for students attending summer classes at Haynes Bridge Middle School.

The Subway employee added she saw a red car -- possibly a Nissan Altima or Maxima -- flee the scene, and traveled at a high rate of speed towards Nesbit Ferry Road.

The man is described as a light-skinned black male in his 30s who was sporting facial hair at the time of the incident, the report states.

Johns Creek police spokesperson Jonathon Ware said the suspect has not been identified at this time, but is ”known to be driving a new model Nissan Altima, maroon in color.”

Anyone with information on this incident, the man of interest and the vehicle is asked to call Johns Creek police at 678-474-1600.
