"No Suspicious Activity" Found After Report of Gunshots Near School

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Johns Creek High School was briefly placed on a soft lockdown Tuesday morning while authorities investigated a report of what sounded like gunshots in the area.

Fulton County Schools spokeswoman Susan Hale said the student "reported hearing something that sounded similar to a gunshot," but the system is not sure if there were any gunshots fired in the area of the school.

Johns Creek High School is located at 5575 State Bridge Road.

"There were reports from several people who heard the same thing, but the source of the noise hasn’t been determined," the spokesperson stated.

A complete patrol was conducted of the exterior and interior of the property by Johns Creek police and Fulton Campus Police officers, but Hale said "no suspicious activity was observed."

Johns Creek High School went into a brief soft lockdown, but returned to normal operations a short time later, Hale stated.
