Scrub Run, Community Health Festival Returns May 14

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Emory Johns Creek Hospital will soon host its annual 5K Scrub Run and Community Health Festival.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 14, with the race starting at 8 a.m. Children 10 and under can participate in a 100-yard dash set to kick off at 9 a.m.

The cost to register for the race is $25 through May 13, and will be $35 on race day. Online registration can be done by clicking here.

The hospital will offer free health screenings including cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, bone density and body mass index (BMI) calculations at the health festival starting at 8 a.m.

This year, the event will also feature the hospital’s da Vinci® Surgical System to show the public how robotic surgery works. Physicians will also be available to meet and greet community members.

Emory Johns Creek Hospital CEO Marilyn Margolis said she’s excited about the 5K Scrub Run and Health Festival, which is open to the Johns Creek community and beyond.

"The health festival provides an opportunity to partner with our community on wellness education, and the race is a friendly and competitive way to promote fitness,” says Margolis. “Participants will learn more about our services and get information on the most current care available right here in Johns Creek.”

Race-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. at the hospital, which is located at 6325 Hospital Parkway in Johns Creek. The festival will run until 11 a.m. in the parking lot outside of Physician’s Plaza, entrance C.

All proceeds will benefit the Chattahoochee High School Cross Country Teams and the Emory Johns Creek Hospital Foundation.
