Man Reported Missing Found Safe, Returns Home: Cops

Johns Creek fire crews assisted Forsyth County sheriff's deputies in searching for Byron Grogan, 19, at Chattahoochee Pointe Park.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Byron Grogan, the 19-year-old man was reported missing Monday evening after going for a run, has been found safe.

Grogan returned to his home at 2:09 a.m. Wednesday, and sheriff's deputies are "investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance."

"Once again, we would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers that came out Tuesday to assist in the search of Mr. Grogan," the sheriff's office said on its Facebook page.

Grogan was reported missing after going for a run Monday evening at Chattahoochee Pointe Park off Old Atlanta Road. Agencies that assisted Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Fire Department in their search were the U.S. Park Service, the Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit and the Johns Creek and Gwinnett County fire departments.
