3rd Annual Freedom of Religion Roundtable

On Thursday, April 18th, more than 200 faith leaders, elected officials, leaders in business and education, and concerned citizens will gather for the 3rd Annual Freedom of Religion Roundtable to discuss the legal, social, and political trends surrounding religious liberty in Georgia.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Paul Murray, Vice President of Religious Freedom Initiatives at the Global Peace Foundation. The evening will also feature a roundtable discussion on religious freedom with panelists 11th District U.S. Congressman Barry Loudermilk; State Representative David Wilkerson; Rabbi Alexandria Shuval-Weiner of Temple Beth Tikvah; Kemal Korucu, former Board President of the Southeast Islamic Community Center and former VP of Atlantic Institute & Interfaith Dialogue Coordinator; and Reverend John H. Vaughn, D.Min, Executive Pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Hannah Clayson Smith, who serves as Associate Director at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies at the J. Reuben Clark School of Law, and National Coordinator at the Religious Freedom Alliance Council. Mrs. Clayson-Smith is also a former clerk to both Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito and is the former Senior Counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.

While guest speakers and panelists come from a wide range of political views and religious affiliations, all share a common desire to protect religious liberty in America, and a recognition that a threat to the religious liberty of one American is a threat to the religious liberty of all Americans.
