An Acworth man is facing aggravated cruelty to animal charges after police say he beat his dog to death after she urinated on the floor inside the home.

Sidney Walker Taylor allegedly beat Lilly, a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix, on April 20 after the first urine incident. Taylor allegedly slammed Lilly’s head into the floor, knocking three of her teeth out, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said. On April 27, Taylor allegedly beat Lilly so badly it caused blood to fill her chest cavity and caused multiple organ failure, leading to her death.

Taylor was arrested on Wednesday and faces two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, the AJC said. He was released the same day on $7,500 bond, Cobb County jail records show.
