An Acworth man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after police say he confessed to putting weed killer in a coworker’s water bottle.

Acworth police were dispatched to a business on Novis Pointe on June 10 in reference to a possible poisoning, spokeswoman Youlanda Leverette tells Patch. After officers took a report, investigators began digging into the situation and discovered that Anthony Dunton, 65, had been caught on camera removing a coworker’s water bottle from its desk and tampering with it.

Police brought Dunton in for questioning, at which point he admitted that he had been putting Round Up in the coworker’s bottle, Leverette says. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Dunton told police he had been putting the weed killer in the coworker’s to “mess with him.”

Cobb County jail records indicate that Dunton was released on $15,000 bond on June 20.
