Administrative Office Management Program to Start October 30
KSU's Continuing and Professional Education is bridging the gap between basic skills and current office practices

Kennesaw State University’s College of Continuing and Professional Education is bridging the gap between basic skills and current office practices with its new Administrative Office Management certificate program. This course teaches learners current principles and concepts including information management, technology, communications office systems and administrative procedures.
Pam Moss, program manager for the Administrative Office Management course, said the program prepares students to assume positions as office managers, supervisors, or as assistants to top executives and senior staff.
“Students learn technical, organizational and critical-thinking skills,” Moss said. “The course is designed to equip students with skills associated with a management position.”

Cindy Moss, an instructor for the Administrative Professional Certificate program will lead the program along with Bryan Wright, who also teaches at the college. Cindy Moss has been teaching business and computer technology courses for over 15 years. In the past, she worked several administrative positions where she gained valuable knowledge on the traits and characteristics of a successful administrative professional.
Bryan Wright has over 17 years of experience managing event and trade show programs for global companies. Wright teaches portions of the Meeting and Event Management Certificate and Administrative Professional Certificate.

Topics covered in the classroom range from communication and leadership to productivity and quality and quantity control. Upon completion, students will have a thorough understanding of the areas of administrative office management, including the managerial, organization and communication processes.
“This course is open to anyone, whether already in the administrative professional field or looking to change careers,” Moss said. “All industries can benefit from the skills taught in this course.”
The Administrative Office Management certificate beings on Monday, October 30 and runs through Dec. 6. Financial assistance options include payment plans, loans, VA Education Benefits and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding.
